Right now I’m sitting in our hotel room in the Bahamas trying
to go to bed while Charles is talking to me about his new sunglasses, navy
seals, video games, cars, and goodness knows what else. This afternoon we flew to the Nassau in
the Bahamas where I will finally get on the ship! I finished packing about 30 seconds before we left the house
to head to the airport. I’m
excited Semester at Sea is finally about to begin but I certainly don’t feel
like it really is. As I was
sitting in the lobby early tonight there were tons of students down there, who
all seem like they already know each other, getting ready to go out. Definitely not for me because exhausted
is the last thing I wanna be when I’m carrying my body bag on the boat
tomorrow. I’m a little embarrassed
about how much stuff I have, but I guess my one big suitcase isn’t all that
much for almost 4 months. When we
first arrived at the hotel dad did something that didn’t surprise me one bit…
he has the people at the semester at sea desk a million and one questions so we
learned a thing or two. This afternoon the boys somehow convinced me to swim in
the FREEZING cold pool (oh and Gedney you never did play ping pong with me). Later Gedney tried his luck at
blackjack in the casino and just ended up turning 100 bucks into 15. Tomorrow I board the ship at 1015, meet
my roommate, and get all settled in.
I can’t wait! Please send
me your emails so I can get in touch with you. I miss ya’ll and hope to hear from you soon!
